A stage to enjoy the surroundings of Sierra de Loarre before reaching the Natural Monument of Mallos de Riglos, one of the most stunning landscapes of the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees. The stage starts at Hípica La Querencia / La Querencia horse riding club and ascends towards Loarre castle. At some point we’ll find a crossroads where we must turn left to connect with the castle’s main road that we should cross to take Cachicar trail heading towards Marcuello castle. This is a beautiful panoramic path leading –after 2,5 km approximately- to Camino Natural de la Hoya de Huesca trail that we must follow to Marcuello. After crossing a pine forest, we’ll see right in front of us the silhouette of its castle and hermitage. After visiting, we must decide either going to Riglos by Camino Natural trail or heading towards Vulture’s viewpoint to see one of the largest colonies of griffon vultures in Europe (+4 km). We highly recommend to visit this area. Following Camino Natural to Riglos we’ll reach Santo Román pass, where we must turn and start the descent along Los Clérigos trail. Pay attention to the rocky steps. The trail leads to a gravel road into the forest. At some point we’ll be able to see the stunning silhouhette of Mallos de Riglos. We’ll follow Camino Natural to reach the village of Riglos. It is highly recommended to take a walk at the feet of “Mallos”.
