MARI, my wife and myself, BERTRAND, arrived in the SIERRA de GUARA in the early 80s. MARI is from the Asturias, (SPAIN). With our two children, we gradually became integrated in the little village of NOCITO where we now run our own hostel, LA MALLATA on one side and on the other side, we breed around 30 horses with the help of our dogs, in the middle of nature as the seasons go by.

For many years, I was a guide and service provider for the best tour-operators specialised in adventure : Terres d’Aventures (F), Explorator (F), Inntravel (GB), Unicorn Trails (GB), Trailsfinder (NL), .etc… I used to organize hikes and horse-riding tour on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees, and elsewhere ...

Our experience as a hiking and riding guide in the canyons, as well as a guard in the Natural Park and as a horse breeder and whisperer allows us to offer you an original approach to horse-riding, developing a privileged relation with the horse resting on the observation of - and compliance with - the social rules  of the herd.

By becoming integrated in the group hierarchy, we replace submissiveness and stress with respect, trust and sharing. Here, no bits, no spurs, no crops, everything is done in order to make the life of both horses and riders as comfortable as possible.          

We were rewarded of our observation of horses and our experience of riding tourism - though we were a bit reluctant- by a documentary about our relationships with horses, 1st prize winner at the international EPONA festival in CABOURG (2001).

As a specialists of the SIERRA de GUARA since the explorations of the beginnings of canyoning in the 1980s until the re-opening of mule tracks that had all but disappeared, by the time I was a guard in the Natural Park, we have a deep knowledge of the sierra and the canyons that enables MARI and I to guarantee quality services fitting your desire to discover our area in complete safety thanks to reliable sure-footed horses.
